Formerly known as Canton, the port city of Guangzhou is China’s busiest transport and trade hub, found just northwest of Hong Kong on the Pearl River.

Aside from its prominence in international trade, Guangzhou is known for its thriving food scene and is considered to be the birthplace of dim sum.
