The Kemang Festival or Carnival takes over the long Kemang Raya Street each November to present some of the most distinctive cultural works and arts of Indonesia (there’s also a great food court here open all year round).
Meanwhile, Jalan Jaksa, which takes place in August, celebrates local Betawi food, dance and art including culinary delights such as swamp fish stew and crocodile bread.
The biennial Salihara festival at Komunitas Salihara every alternate October, is considered the highlight of Jakarta’s arts calendar, which features local dancers, musicians, actors, artists and comedians, as well and international acts.
