Vancouver hosts a huge array of different festivals and events throughout the year, from large international affairs, to those celebrating the best of local culture.

Live music events include the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (June), Vancouver Folk Music Festival (July) and MusicFest Vancouver (August), while theatre fans gather in a beautiful park on English Bay for Bard on the Beach, where performances of Shakespeare plays take place against a backdrop of the beach, city and mountains.

Canada Day on July 1st is celebrated here with official festivities in the Canada Place and city-wide parties and BBQs and later that month the skies come alive with fireworks, as Vancouver competes in the international Celebration of Light competition.
