Even if you are based in New Delhi’s city centre, there’s plenty more to explore in Delhi as a whole.
Don’t miss the splendid Moghul monuments of Humayun’s Tomb in the south, the 16th-century structure which inspired some of the design of the Taj Mahal, and the dramatic marble and sandstone of Old Delhi’s Red Fort. Also to the south you’ll find the amazing Qutb Minar complex, a city awash with ancient ruins.
For those who like to shop or simply people watch, no trip to Delhi is complete without taking a walk down Chandi Chowk, Old Delhi’s bustling historic bazaar.
